Consultation

Dr. Schwartz offers options for consultations to make it as convenient as possible for out-of-town patients. If you cannot come to Lawrenceville, GA for your in-person consultation with Dr. Schwartz, we can set up a virtual visit to discuss your goals, and plans and how we can help you achieve them.

Scheduling Your Procedure

Our surgery coordinator will schedule your surgery and communicate any pre-operative instructions, including any bloodwork and other testing needed, together with consent forms to sign. Please plan on arriving at least 1 to 2 days before your surgery so you have time to meet with Dr. Schwartz and go over the details of your procedure and follow-up care.

Traveling

There are several ways to get to us:

DRIVING

Driving to Lawrenceville is a great option for out-of-town patients who live close enough and want to have more control over their transportation. The city is easily accessible from major highways and interstates, making it a convenient destination for those traveling by car. If you decide to drive, be sure to use GPS navigation to avoid getting lost or stuck in traffic. Dr. Schwartz’s clinic and surgery center is located just off Highway 316, which is a major thoroughfare in the area. The drive to Lawrenceville can be a scenic one, with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Additionally, there are plenty of restaurants, gas stations, and rest stops along the way, making it easy to take breaks and refresh yourself during your journey. FLYING

If you are flying, then your best option is Atlanta. The airport is Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the code is ATL. Please know there are two separate terminals – Domestic and International (this matters most when you are picking up your luggage and departing as they are not connected for your check-in purposes)

You could use the local taxi service, which is available at the airport 24/7, or you could opt for Uber, which is also a popular choice for many travelers. Both options are convenient and reliable, and you can easily book them using your smartphone or at designated booths located within the airport.

Uber now offers the option to have your ride ready and waiting for you when you land. Just follow the signs for “Share Ride” from the luggage pick-up.

Dr. Schwartz’s clinic and surgery center are about 40 miles by car from the airport. That is about 57 minutes in moderate traffic.

The cost of Uber varies based on the time of the day but on average you can expect $50-$60 per ride with UberX for up to 4 people.

Care

Please know that patients must be discharged to an adult 21 years of age and older following their surgery. It is recommended that patients have care/companionship for the first 24 hours following their surgery.

Out-of-town patients traveling alone or those who think they may require additional assistance or medical care can explore nursing agencies or in-home care services. These companies provide services from companionship, and personal care to skilled nursing care to those who need it. There are several options available, and patients can choose the one that fits their needs and budget.

One such option is Visiting Angels, which provides in-home care and companion services to patients in Lawrenceville and surrounding areas. Their services include medication reminders, transportation, and other basic services. They do not provide nursing staff and therefore cannot help with dressing changes, etc.

Then there are Nurses and Companions. They have a team of highly trained caregivers and registered nurses who are dedicated to providing compassionate and personalized care to each patient.
